I adapt the aesthetics of my design work to suit the product users, but I use the simplest designs, maximizing the functionality and minimizing the engineering required. Simple strong shapes enhance the longevity and robustness of the product.
I feel that product simplicty and functionality is necessary to produce powerful attractive shapes with a timeless quality. I start the design process with pencil sketches, clay models and sometimes computer generated, 3D models. A scale model of the final product is then produced with appropriate materials.
